Attractions of Esfand (February - March)
1- Bahram’Gour Protected Area: For an arid habitat like Bahram’Gour, winter is the
best time to visit. Bahram’Gour is one of the two Onager sites in Iran; which had
an improving status of this specie these years and the population has reduced over
300.


2- Purple Sunbird: This small and beautiful bird has most of its activities in this
season. Its favorite flower is flourished just in this time of the year in southern
Iran. Chinese hibiscus nectar is the main diet of this bird.


3- Hendorabi Island: This Island is located in the south of Seraj P.A. in Persian
Gulf. There are a few people located in the west-south of this Island. Beautiful
shores have made a special place for nesting of the sea turtles and birds.


4- White-tailed eagle: This huge bird of prey lives in Northern wetlands of Iran.
White tail and a big beak are of its characteristics.

5- Khabr National Park: This National Park which is located in Kerman province has
unique flora. It creates different ecosystems; including mountainous, arid plain
and rolling hills. Wild Goat, Wild sheep, Leopard and Jebeer are of the biggest
species of this national park. Onager, Cheetah, Goitered gazelle, and black bear
are unfortunately vanished in this region but there are some opportunities for bringing
some of them back through proper conservation programs.


6- Hormoz Island: This magnificent island is located in a strategically important
strait which has got its name from the island, Hormoz Strait. About 600 years ago
Hormoz Island was one of the most important parts of East world and one of the three
fortresses of Portuguese in Asia was located in Hormoz. From their 120 years presence
in the Persian Gulf a beautiful castle remained which among geological attractions
and populations of Jebeer gazelle make it completely unique.
7- Chabahar: This port and bay is located in the most far south eastern port of
the country and is famous for its pleasant climate. Winter is the best time to visit
Chabahar.


8- Siberin Crane: With no doubt this is the rarest species of wildlife in Iran.
The western population of this species migrates from Siberia to Fereydoun-Kenar
wetland which is now reduces to one bird! Once the population was much more and
lack of proper conservation action would lead it to extinction.
9- Salt Cave: The biggest salt cave on earth is located in Qeshm Island in Persian
Gulf. It has different entrances and amazing scenery inside it. The presence of
Salt Cave and other geological phenomena in Qeshm made the only geo-park of Iran
in this island.


10- Bakhtegan National Park: Tashk and Bakhtegan lakes are located in Fars province,
one of suitable destinations for eco-tourists. More than a million Flamingos migrate
there but due to the fact that nowadays water is also used for agricultural purposes
which in turn cause the lack of water income, the number has reduced drastically.
